Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
The Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) treats your personal information with respect. We do not rent, sell or trade our mailing lists. Your personal data will be used solely for the purpose for which it is made available. Our employees are under obligation to keep secret and confidential and also to safeguard any personal data made available to them.
Usage and Right to Information
OAO uses the Membership data you voluntarily provide – both online and offline – to keep you informed of information pertinent to your Membership in the Association.
Upon request, OAO will advise you as quickly as possible in writing, whether any of your personal data has been stored by the company and if so, which data. We will correct or delete any information upon written request, but we require acknowledgement in writing that you understand the deletion of your Membership data will impede OAO’s ability to contact you if you wish to remain a participant in the Association.
If at a later date, you no longer wish to participate as an OAO Member, your information will be deleted from the OAO Public Website and OAO Members’ Portal database(s) but will be stored offline in a secure archive should you wish to access it or use it to rejoin as a Member.
Security
OAO will apply technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against either accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or unauthorized access.

Our website may contain links to websites offered by other providers. OAO does not have any influence over the content of linked websites and thus we do not monitor these sites on a permanent basis or have responsibility for the content therein. OAO accepts no liability for the content of websites accessed via any links contained within our website and our data protection does not apply to such websites.
