OAO's Joe Chan on CityTV
Thu, 3 Dec 2009OAO Past President Dr. Joe Chan appeared on City TV discussing the signs, symptoms and risks of retinal detachment.
The story focused on risk signs such as floaters and other indications that a high risk situation such as retinal detachment has occurred. Dr. Chan noted that in most cases floaters themselves are not worrisome, but the sudden onset of floaters and/or other signs can indicate a more serious problem.
Although a dangerous eye condition can occur at any time, it is important to have a yearly eye exam with an optometrist as a baseline healthcare step as this allows your optometrist to be familiar with your eye health and vision care, and to be able to respond promptly to urgent situations.
