Dr. Shirley Blanc
Dr. Shirley Blanc graduated from the University of Waterloo
School of Optometry in 2001. She focuses a significant
portion of her practice on assessing and treating patients
with visual-based problems from traumatic brain injury. Dr.
Blanc is a fellow of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation
Association (NORA), an international multi-disciplinary
organization. Her literature review article about visual
dysfunction from whiplash injury will be published in
Optometry & Visual Performance in December 2019, and is
currently a co-investigator at the University of Toronto with
the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education and their Sport Medicine clinic, looking at the
influence of peripheral visuomotor abilities on sport injury risk. She has provided services in
vision rehabilitation as well as vision performance for athletes at all levels, including Varsity,
Olympic, and Pro.
